Get Involved: Make a Contribution
 
Community Connections has been fortunate over the years to have two private gift funds endowed for client use.  The gift funds provide cash gifts to clients in need of everything from winter clothes, apartment furniture, emergency medications, the purchase of birth certificates and other documentation and general personal care items.  Since the inception of these funds, over 500 individuals have received gifts ranging from $15 for school supplies to over $1000 for the payment of back utility bills.
 
Sara's Fund, started in 2000 by Maxine Harris and her husband Mark Smith in honor of her mother, Sara Harris provides gifts to women and children living in poverty. There is no limit on the size of gifts, although most tend to be between $100 and $500.
 
The Dave Bauman fund, initiated in 2008 by Sam Bauman and his family provides gifts of up to $25 for men and women living with mental illness.
